Encouragement

Passing along some encouraging words I received recently from the founder and director of Tumaini Children’s Center, Rev. Bernard Muindi.  He is a revered figure, not just around Tumaini, but throughout the country.  I am beginning to understand why.

“...We are glad that there are people interested to help the needy children and we pray that through their love and concern these children will cultivate the spirit of serving others if God blesses them.  It is encouraging to us to have people from far who think of expressing their love beyond their own country which is truly an expression of the depth, length and width of God’s love. ...

Let those who are volunteering to come feel they are most welcome and their intended services are needed.

Caring for the destitute children is hard work because their needs are many and it takes much time to rehabilitate them.  However, it is a rewarding ministry as one thinks of what Jesus saw when he said, “Let the little children come to me”. Perhaps Jesus would have said something else if he met the destitute children of our day.  I guess he would have said, “Give them something to eat and clothe them”.  This responsibility is entrusted to us as Christ’s servants.

May God bless and guide you as you prepare to come for the Lord’s work in this country.

We commit you to God in our prayers.

Sincerely yours,

Bernard Muindi (Very Rev.)”
